COMPARISON

AiM vs ApexIngest

AiM builds elite hardware. ApexIngest builds the web analysis layer that makes it actionable for every rider, not just engineers.

AiM

AiM Solo 2 DL / EVO5

£499

Motorsport-grade GPS lap timer and data logger with Race Studio 3 desktop analysis suite. Used across club racing and serious track programmes.

ApexIngest

ApexIngest

£9

Analysis SaaS for motorcycle telemetry. Imports AiM CSV exports, adds corner coaching, setup tracking, coach mode, and a modern web dashboard.

Where each one wins

Hardware (logger)

Winner: AiM Solo 2 DL / EVO5

AiM builds some of the best motorsport loggers on the market — bombproof cases, 10+ Hz GPS, optional inertial platform, ECU bridge. ApexIngest doesn't compete on hardware; bring your AiM.

On-bar display

Winner: AiM Solo 2 DL / EVO5

AiM's Solo 2 DL and EVO5 have integrated lap time displays. You see splits without pulling out your phone. ApexIngest is a post-session web tool.

Offline analysis depth

Winner: AiM Solo 2 DL / EVO5

AiM Race Studio 3 is a mature desktop analysis suite with channel maths, raw channel overlays, and full telemetry graphs. It's the right tool for engineering-level deep dives.

Web-based dashboard

Winner: ApexIngest

ApexIngest is entirely browser-based — works on any device, shareable with coaches and teammates via a link, no desktop software to install or licence.

Corner-by-corner coaching

Winner: ApexIngest

ApexIngest analyses every corner, identifies your slowest one with a time delta vs your best lap, and turns that into a structured drill plan. Race Studio graphs data but doesn't coach.

AI session analysis

Winner: ApexIngest

ApexIngest runs an LLM coaching pass on every imported session and builds a rolling rider profile across the season. AiM has no AI coaching layer.

Setup tracking & diff

Winner: ApexIngest

ApexIngest logs suspension and tyre setup per session and diffs it against your previous visits to the same track. AiM Race Studio doesn't manage bike setup.

Coach / team mode

Winner: ApexIngest

ApexIngest has multi-rider team dashboards. Coaches can set drill plans per rider per track. AiM Race Studio is a single-engineer, single-machine tool.

Pricing model

Winner: AiM Solo 2 DL / EVO5

AiM is a one-time hardware purchase (£499+). ApexIngest is £9/month subscription. The AiM logger pays for itself over time; ApexIngest layered on top adds more value per month than a coffee.

Verdict

AiM hardware is excellent and Race Studio gives engineers what they need for deep channel analysis. But it's a desktop tool built for one person — not a modern web platform a whole team shares. ApexIngest is what you add on top: import your AiM CSV export and get corner coaching, a lean angle overlay, setup tracking, and a shareable dashboard that your coach can open on a phone in the pitlane.

Where ApexIngest fits

Already running AiM? Export from Race Studio as CSV and import it into ApexIngest in one click. Your AiM data becomes corner-by-corner coaching, lap overlays, setup tracking, and a web dashboard your coach can review live — without touching Race Studio again.
